Taking place over the August 19 & 20 2017 weekend, the free to all, ArtsFest Waterdown Summer Festival drew over 20,000 lovers of arts & culture in all its forms in 2016 to the picturesque victorian streets of downtown Waterdown – the center of a fast growing community nestled on top of the Niagara Escarpment, just outside of the GTA, between Hamilton and Burlington. The festival features world-class curated presentation of visual and diverse musical artists in Classical, World, Folk & Jazz, presenting works that appeal to audiences across a diverse range of ethnicities, incomes, and cultural backgrounds, with a central theme – artists of substance, with innovative and unique creativity in the presentation of their craft.
Musicians perform on multiple stages, in different areas of the festival, bordered by Dundas, Main, Mill and Griffin Streets. Street musicians with portable instruments will engage with festival goers alongside artisan vendors and visual art instructors in an interactive experience for young & old. A dedicated family zone with dance & theatrical performances, storytelling, and interactive art activities for children & youth have a dedicated space within the free festival.
